AXIS-Y water your skin ultra hydration set reviewAXIS-Y is slowly becoming one of my go-to brands lately.  For a while now I’ve been wishing for them to come out with more dry skin-friendly products since the majority of their line contains products that suit more normal, oily, and acne skin types.  Well, our prayers have been answered because AXIS-Y recently came out with a full-blown hydration line!!! AHHHHHHH!  Three ultra hydration products and they’ve even come out with a deluxe sample kit if you don’t want to buy all three full-size products.  Let’s take a deep dive into these and see if they are the right fit for you.

Axis-Y water your skin ultra hydration kit reviewHonestly, I’m not too sure why they chose this completely different typography for their hydrating set. If the aesthetic was just like their self-care set with every single product from their whole collection, that would have made much more sense.

Inside the set is this cute card and a step-by-step guide to which products you should be using, just in case you are a newbie and need some guidance.

Axis-Y sunday morning refreshing cleansing foam reviewFirst up, we have the Sunday morning refreshing cleansing foam.  AXIS-Y has two cleansers to choose from, either this one or the quinoa one-step balanced gel cleanser.  I personally find the quinoa cleanser so drying for my already dried skin type.  It is definitely built more for normal to oily skin types, whereas the Sunday morning refreshing cleansing foam works better for my dry skin type.

Axis-Y sunday morning refreshing cleansing foam reviewThe cleanser itself comes out like a silky paste and massages out into a thin silky texture that foams up slightly.  After cleansing with this cleanser, I don’t find my skin stripped, irritated, or dried out at all.  There is a bit of a Centella earthy scent to it but it isn’t strong.  Some of the main ingredients used in this cleanser are green tea (removes impurity), allantoin (stimulate cells to encourage cell growth), chamomile (promotes skin’s regeneration), licorice (soothe highly irritated skin), calendula (speed healing of blemishes/ scar), Centella (boosts healing/ soothing), birch sap (strengthen skin barrier), and aquaxl (anti-dehydration shield).

Axis-Y aqua boosting essence toner reviewNext up is their AXIS-Y aqua boosting essence toner that kind of reminds me of Isntree’s hyaluronic acid toner plus.  It contains 10 types of hyaluronic acid and ingredients such as allantoin, Centella Asiatica, heartleaf, squalane, green tea, and mugwort.  There is a slight fragrance to this toner, but to me, it smells like mochi for some reason.  The scent is super faint and doesn’t linger after application.

Axis-Y aqua boosting essence toner reviewJust like the name suggests, this toner is one of the thickest toners I’ve tried and truly has an essence texture to it.  It is very thick when you drip it out of the bottle and melts into your skin right away after massaging.  To me, it reminds me of melted jello and almost makes your skin feel bouncy in a way.  I’ve been using it for a month now and really enjoy the texture.  The Centella, heartleaf, green tea, and mugwort also help to calm my skin and soothe the irritation.

Axis-Y aqua boosting essence toner reviewUnlike most hyaluronic acid products I’ve tried before, this toner has the added benefit of heartleaf and mugwort, both ingredients that AXIS-Y excels in.  This toner takes a minute to fully absorb into the skin, leaving my skin hydrated without any heaviness.  I usually don’t like my products to leave anything behind, however, the endless feeling of calming and soothing effect truly is like none other.

Axis-Y advanced aqua boosting ampoule reviewNext up is the AXIS-Y advanced aqua boosting ampoule.  Similar to the toner, this contains 10 types of hyaluronic acid, Centella Asiatica, madecassic acid, asiaticoside, Asiatica acid, madecassoside, and purslane.  Those who are Centella lovers like me would love this ampoule!  There is also their anti sebum (HD) 0.5% which contains evening primrose, Arrowroot, Pine Needles, and Elm Root complex, all to help control sebum secretion, help pore care and act as an antibacterial agent.

Axis-Y advanced aqua boosting ampoule reviewTexture-wise is also similar to the toner in terms of thickness.  However, after massaging it into the skin, this one leaves the skin slightly sticky but dewy and hydrating.  When you first drip it into your skin, you instantly feel this boost of calm and soothing feeling, great for those with very angry and red skin right now.  The different Centella components have truly helped my skin not freak out as bad as the weather changes up.

Axis-Y advanced aqua boosting ampoule reviewYou really can’t tell from the picture, but my skin looks like there is a healthy glow from the ampoule.  It is lovely!!

Axis-Y heartleaf my type calming cream reviewLastly, we have AXIS-Y heartleaf my type calming cream.  Since falling in love with their cera-heart my type duo cream, I was looking forward to this new version for dry skin.  Made with heartleaf, Centella Asiatica, allantoin, sorghum, sage, licorice, and aspergillus ferment, this cream is made to soothe irritated, dry and dehydrated skin.

Axis-Y heartleaf my type calming cream reviewTexture-wise, it is a gel-type cream that is slightly thicker than the watery type of moisturizers, however, it still seeps into the skin quickly and leaves minimal hydration behind.  I personally find the duo cream to be more hydrating and suitable for my weather here where it is cold and the heater is always blasting.  I think those who live in a more humid climate would enjoy this much more than me.

Axis-Y heartleaf my type calming cream reviewAlthough I can’t use this cream alone, I do use it to layer my creams since it still does have good hydration levels.  The ingredients in this cream do help soothe my skin (Centella Asiatica, heartleaf, sage), while ingredients like sorghum were supposed to help with skin brightening effects.  I personally didn’t see much of brightening effects, but that might be because I haven’t used it for long enough?  My skin has also been freaking out from the weather changes, so that’s kind of hard to see if there are any brightening benefits.

Overall, I’m really happy that AXIS-Y created a hydrating line for us, dry skin folks.  And even if you don’t have dry skin, all four of these products will most likely work with your skin type too since all four are quite light and hydrating. And like I said, if you don’t want to have to choose, just get the kit and test out all four products to see if this line is a good fit for you :).
